SUMMARY:Album Launch - ‘Ar Shiúl Leis Na Síóga - Away With the Fairies’ - Catharine Kingcome
DESCRIPTION:Album Launch \n‘Ar Shiúl Leis Na Síóga – Away With the Fairies’ \nCatharine Kingcome \n  \nFrom melody to canvas\, a narrative portrait painter’s lyrical response to Irish music and\nmusicians. Rich in imagination\, memory and emotion. \nCatharine has been a painter and fiddle player for 40 years. Here she introduces her debut\nalbum Ar Shiúl Leis Na Sióga – Away With the Fairies\, a heartfelt reflection of the music that\nshaped and inspired her creative journey\, with 25 of her paintings created between 1988 and\n2000. She has gained wide recognition in Ireland and across the diaspora for these portraits\nof leading Irish musicians and other works inspired by the music. To her\, the music and the\npaintings it inspired are inseparable\, each shaping the other. Her book and album together\ntell this story\, forming a unique project where painting and music share equal weight. \nMartin Hayes says of her music:\n“I’ve known Catharine for many years as a painter of traditional Irish music themes and\npeople. I was aware that she also played the fiddle\, though I had always assumed it was\nsomething she pursued casually. What a lovely surprise\, then\, to hear her debut recording\nand discover that she is a very fine fiddle player. Not only a fine fiddler\, but a musician of real\ntaste and deep understanding of the tradition\, evident in her thoughtful tune choices and\nsensitive interpretations. This is a warm\, authentic recording of traditional Irish fiddle\nplaying.” \n  \nDate & Time: 1pm\, 7th November 2026 \nVenue: Cruises Bar Ennis\, 41 Abbey St\, Clonroad Beg\, Ennis\, Co. SUMMARY:Album Launch - 'An Bhearna Bhán' - Jillian O'Malley
DESCRIPTION:Album Launch \n‘An Bhearna Bhán‘ \nJillian O’Malley \n  \n‘Congratulations Jillian\, on your brilliant solo flute album. \nPractically all of the music is Mayo-based and very well researched\, highlighting old music from her own place and elsewhere in the county. The album brings to life the music\, most of which would not have been heard or recorded in recent times. \nAlso included are a number of compositions in the traditional idiom which I think are consistent with the music of the past. All selections are played with decisive accuracy\, pitching and wonderful tone\, with tasteful accompaniment throughout. \nIt’s a top-class album! Jillian’s style is very much her own and her love of the music comes shining through!’ \nMatt Molloy \n‘This is a hugely enjoyable album\, both as a collection of exceptional flute playing – which never flags throughout the whole CD – and for its insight into the Mayo tradition. It comes from and simultaneously creates a strong sense of place\, and is meticulously curated to demonstrate a deep knowledge\, respect and a passion for the music of West Mayo.’ \nAdrian Scahill\, The Journal of Music \n  \nDate & Time: 6pm\, 7th November 2026 \nVenue: Temple Gate Hotel\, The Square\, Clonroad Beg\, Ennis\, Co. SUMMARY:Album Launch - 'The Strawboys' - The Strawboys
DESCRIPTION:Album Launch \n‘The Strawboys’ \nThe Strawboys \n  \nThe Strawboys are delighted to announce the release of their new album\, to be presented at Ennis Trad Festival on 7 November 2026. \nThis new recording is the result of a close musical collaboration between Francesco Bettoni and Daniele Bicego\, two Italian musicians with many years of experience immersed in the world of Irish traditional music. Working as a duo allowed them to explore a more intimate and focused approach to the music\, built around guitar\, bouzouki\, Irish flutes and uilleann pipes. \nAlthough the album is rooted in the Irish tradition\, its sound also reflects the musicians’ long-standing experience of playing\, studying and performing Irish music both in Italy and in Ireland. The arrangements leave space for the character of each instrument\, while the interplay between guitar\, bouzouki\, flutes and pipes creates the musical foundation throughout the record. \nThe album also features a number of special guest musicians from Ireland and the United States\, alongside some of the most respected and prominent figures in the Italian traditional music scene. Their contributions bring different voices\, styles and perspectives to the recording\, making the album a musical meeting point between Ireland\, the U.S. and Italy. \nFor Francesco and Daniele\, presenting this work at Ennis Trad Festival is a particularly meaningful moment. After many years dedicated to Irish traditional music\, having the opportunity to bring their music back to Ireland and share this new album in Ennis\, at one of the most important festivals dedicated to traditional Irish music\, is a great honour. \nMore than simply a new recording\, this album represents a journey through years of musical\nexperience\, friendships and encounters between musicians on both sides of the Irish Sea — and a celebration of the music that has brought The Strawboys together. \n  \nDate & Time: 7pm\, 7th November 2026 \nVenue: Temple Gate Hotel\, The Square\, Clonroad Beg\, Ennis\, Co. Clare\, V95 HOXK

SUMMARY:Album Launch - 'The Boys of Carrickroe' - The McKenna Family
DESCRIPTION:Album Launch \n‘The Boys of Carrickroe’ \nThe McKenna Family \n  \nSiblings Eugene\, Daniel\, James\, Sinéad\, Peter\, Ciarán and Catríona or The McKenna Family from Augher\, Co. Tyrone are the 4th generation of musicians in a family steeped in Irish traditional music. With strong familial and musical north Monaghan roots\, their sound reflects a deep innate musical bondage that only siblings with a shared musical upbringing can exhibit. \nThese 7 siblings are highly sought after and celebrated as both solo musicians and as a family band\, performing and touring worldwide. They have made guest appearances on numerous TV and radio broadcasts such as RTÉ’s Late Late Show\, Geantraí (TG4)\, Fleadh Live (TG4)\, and Céilí House. \nReleasing in April 2026\, the McKenna’s debut album ‘The Boys Of Carrickroe’ is a tribute to their granduncles\, the late revered fiddlers Pete and Pat McKenna of Carrickroe\, Co. Monaghan. It draws much from their musical lives via old cassette and radio recordings\, stories and repertoire. \nRooted in place and family\, it bridges past and present through a distinctive sound — a new generation of raw fiery McKenna fiddling interwoven with pipes\, harp\, box and concertina\, along with reimagined and unrecorded traditional songs from their local area and beyond. \n  \nDate & Time: 4pm\, 8th November 2026 \nVenue: Temple Gate Hotel\, The Square\, Clonroad Beg\, Ennis\, Co.
